The Walking Dead Needs to End
Maybe a spoiler or two? You’ve been warned.
Well bitch, The Walking Dead is back! By now my standom for this franchise is more than apparent but the show needs to end and here’s why:
Like most book/comic to screen adaptations, portions of the story are either cut completely or altered, TWD is no exception. For my fellow readers, we know that Carl is alive, well, and a pain in the ass. Most importantly, Carl plays an integral part in the fabric of the story. Frankly, after Carl’s untimely death (yeah, I know Chandler is college-bound so the writers needed to devise a way to cancel Carl) I’m not very interested in whatever the writers are compelled to say to me. Being that Carl is pretty damn important in the comic, I’m certain the showrunners are going to pull a GoT and create their own story lines. To a degree, I can be suck it up and be okay with this but what about some major story points that the viewing audience won’t experience.
As we readers know, after the all-out war, Rick takes Negan prisoner. During Negan’s stay in the chokey, he and Carl form a bond. Carl secretly visits Negan almost daily to discuss his gripes with Rick and teenage angst. It was really interesting to see the dynamic between the two characters. Now that Carl is dead, we won’t get to see those scenes come to life and I’m disappointed.
How will we be introduced to The Whisperers with Carl being dead? Or the cringiness of Carl loses his virginity? Or the heart-ache of Carl’s lust for the first girl to give him some tail results in minor characters getting killed? Hmmm AMC?! HOW?! Just end the damn show.
P.S. I see what AMC did whilst filming Carl’s death scene. Didn’t it remind you of Andrea’s death scene from the comic? I was just as emotionally invested and pressed that she had the nerve to get bit saving Eugene raggedy tail of all people. AND not to mention that Rick couldn’t even kill her before she turned. TUH! Okay, I’m done with my rant…for now.
