Striking Oil

Striking Oil

Can we be real for two seconds and all agree that the fall/winter air is a vindictive b*tch. All summer your skin is hydrated, melanin popping then BAM! The fall/winter wind slaps and humbles you real quick. I don't know about you but I have SUPER sensitive skin and can't use a lot of products on the market so I opt to use items in my kitchen. In a precious post, I gave a quick and easy guide to natural skin remedies which included olive oil. As mentioned, extra virgin olive oil provides the skin with elasticity and moistens like no other. Here are a few places on my person I have used olive oil throughout the winter and how long I leave the olive oil on my skin. Again, everyone's skin is different so test it out to see what would work best with you and your skin type. It's seriously magic in a bottle.

Quick fix-about 2 mins
Lips
I know I know, crusty lips-nah. Mix a teeny tiny bit of olive oil and sugar to make a sugar scrub. Gently rub on your lips and wipe off. Makes for some seriously kissable lips

5 mins
Eyebrows
Cuticles
Nostrils
I know I'm not the only one who's eyebrows get a little dandruffy, cuticles drier than that thang, and nostrils flaking from using rough toilet paper. Seriously, putting olive oil on these areas for 5 mins then wiping clean will do the trick.

More than 5 mins but less than 10- let's say 7 mins
Elbows and knees need love too

10 mins
During these cold months, my face tends to get dry in turn feels super tight (I wonder if that's how Botox feels) Anywho, as mentioned in a previous post, mix olive oil and sugar together, apply to face, leave on for 10 mins, rinse and pat face dry and say hello glowing hydrated skin!

15 mins
Okay seriously, have you checked the bottom of your feet lately because girl. I found that rubbing my feet with olive oil and leaving it on for 15 mins not only leaves your feet smooth but exposes and softens those rough patches so you and your filer can go to town. Or if you are a self pedicurist, like myself, drop about a tablespoon in your foot spa water. Allow the olive oil to mix in and go about your normal pedicure routine. I promise you'll notice the difference.

Try these hacks as often as needed and let me know how it goes!
