Happy Skin=Happy Life: 4 Natural Remedies To Promote Healthier Skin

Happy Skin=Happy Life: 4 Natural Remedies To Promote Healthier Skin

I have literally tried every acne product in heaven and earth and nothing seemed to help my acne prone skin.  My mother put me on how extra virgin olive oil works magic which opened Pandora's box into other natural skin remedies. I have pretty "normal" skin as in not too dry or oily so use these remedies as a starting point and adjust as you see fit for your skin. Before applying any of the following, I usually start with Shea Moisture’s Organic African Black Soap as it’s geared specifically toward acne prone skin (use daily even if don't partake in the following).

Mask 1
3 tablespoons of honey
1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon
1 cotton round
Witch hazel
Dime sized dollop of cocoa butter

Spot test the mixture on the back of your hand or wrist before applying to your face as the mixture can cause some skin irritation and swelling. Also, don't apply this mask more than once a week; I use this mask once a month as it’s a bit much for my sensitive skin.

  • Pour 3 tablespoons of honey into a bowl or plate then 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon.
  • Mix ingredients together until fully mixed.
  • Apply a little warm water to you face before applying mixture.
  • Apply mixture to face and leave on for 10-15 mins. Once you've applied the mixture you will feel some tingling, don't worry your face isn't going to melt off, it's completely normal. But of course if it begins to burn, remove immediately.
  • At the end of the 10-15 mins, rinse mask off with warm water and pat face dry.
  • Apply witch hazel to cotton round and apply on face.
  • Let witch hazel dry then apply cocoa butter.

Mask 2
2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoons of sugar

  • Pour 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil into a bowl or plate then 1 tablespoon of sugar.
  • Mix ingredients together until fully mixed.
  • Apply a little warm water to you face before applying mixture.
  • Apply mixture to face and leave on for 10-15 mins.
  •  At the end of the 10-15 mins, rinse mask off with warm water and pat face dry.
  • Your face will be so hydrated, you won’t even need cocoa butter-Poseidon himself placed a kiss on your cheek your face is so hydrated

Mask 3
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoons sugar
1 cotton round
Witch hazel
Dime sized dollop of cocoa butter

  • Pour 2 tablespoons of honey into a bowl or plate then 1 sugar.
  • Mix ingredients together until fully mixed.
  • Apply a little warm water to you face before applying mixture.
  • Apply mixture to face and leave on for 10-15 mins.
  • At the end of the 10-15 mins, rinse mask off with warm water and pat face dry.
  • Apply witch hazel to cotton round and apply on face.
  • Let witch hazel dry then apply cocoa butter.

Mask 4
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoons lemon concentrate
Dime sized dollop of cocoa butter

  • Pour 2 tablespoons of honey into a bowl or plate then 1 lemon concentrate.
  • Mix ingredients together until fully mixed.
  • Apply a little warm water to you face before applying mixture.
  • Apply mixture to face and leave on for 10-15 mins.
  • At the end of the 10-15 mins, rinse mask off with warm water and pat face dry.
  • Apply cocoa butter

Bonus: You can use honey alone as a mask and lemon concentrate as an astringent

Benefits of the ingredients used:

Cinnamon- Dries out acne
